Blessed Easter to everybody, as we kick of the month of April! There is some exciting news that I wish to share with you, and without further ado, lets get right to it!

It is so much fun for us all to witness the make-overs and of course for both the new client and the regular client to receive the discount is a huge joy! Then I  am excited to announce that my MIDWEEK Special, running on Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's is still available! This will run throughout the year, up until the end of November! You will see the new marketing around this on Facebook soon! So just to refresh your memory, the MIDWEEK Special is a great way to maintain your hair, at a set price! This way its easier to budget and still have great hair. The first deal is a root colour deal of R750 and the 2nd one is a half head Highlights for R850! Both deals include a cut and blowdry, as well as a treatment!

I am also excited to share a fresh idea with you all relating to the creative aspect of my business... and this new idea has been received with open arms! HOST A PAINTING PARTY AT YOUR HOME! This is such an exciting idea, I can't wait to share it with you all! We all have had a number of interesting and fun themes for parties, especially for the kids... but when last have you had a FUN party at your home for your adult friends? This will be a great way to get together and experience the joy of being creative together, learning a painting made easy method, and visiting with your best friends around a glass of wine and some shared treats! Who wouldn't like to experience holding a paint brush in a setting like this? Right?

So, if this idea grabs you, here are the details!
First, let me know that you are interested to be the *HOST for a painting party. *Hosting a painting party will get you a reduced fee, as well as an opportunity to a free private coaching session with me valued at R850!
I suggest we keep the party small, so no more than 10 people, and keep in mind that we might do this around your dining room table or if you have an outside entertainment space. Some people are comfortable working on the floor (picnic style in the garden), while others prefer to sit at a table to paint, the choice is yours!

The cost will be R450 per person attending, and that will include all the painting materials needed for the party! Each guest must also bring a plate of savories to share, and if you prefer to have a glass of wine,  bring that too! The dress code is simply casual in clothes that they don't mind getting paint on, or they can put an apron on! If dressing up is your thing, then don't let me hold you back!

This can take place on a Saturday afternoon from 1pm till 5pm, or on a public holiday. We will need at least 4 to 5 hours for the painting part of the party! Your guests can party on afterwards if that is what you prefer!

No painting skills or previous art experience is necessary. Simply an open mind and a sense of adventure is required! The canvas we will use is about A4 size and the approach is that of playful discovery, rather than a formal art class. Remember the idea here is to have fun, and to experience something new. The CREATIVE COACHING method I have been trained in comes in handy during this fun exploring of various themes, and this is where you and your guests might discover just how amazingly deep and soulful art can be! So, if this idea grabs you, get some of your best friends fired up, set a date and book with me! I need at least 4 weeks notice in advance in order to book! All guests need to pay ahead so that I can get all the art supplies for the party. So when you book have your guest list ready, and I will provide my banking details for the deposit.

March 2018 newsletter and update

Greetings dear Friends,

Welcome to the month of March! Isn't it amazing how time flies when you take moment to reflect on what happened and what is to come? I have recently been working through one of my favorite books "A New Earth" by Eckhard Tolle. 

He reminded me about the power of now, and our relationship to the present moment, and I would like to share some of this insight with you in my own words;

He mentioned that your attitude and energy towards the present moment can be in three different stances... you are either treating the present moment as an means to an end... which is to say that you aren't really present... you are rushing forward, trying to get to a future point where you perceive happiness or fulfilment to be... thus missing what the present moment is giving you, and unfortunately always reaching towards an unfulfilling emptyness, because all we ever have is the present moment...

Or you are treating the present moment as the enemy... you perceive it as hostile. You are unable to accept the present moment for what it is, because in your mind it should be different, look different or feel different. Your energy is frustrated and resentful, and you feel like life is against you, and all you remember is past experiences which reinforces your belief that the present moment is the enemy... if only you could go back to how things where, or if things could only be like I whish them to be, rather than how it is now! These thoughts than can indicate that you are not accepting the present, but rather than you are resisting the present moment.

When we are truly present in our lives, there is no struggle. We are not pushing or pulling the energy to be different to what it is. There is acceptance and flow. We perceive all possibilities available to us, and we are able to create and experience a powerful experience by being aware and fully present in the now. In this state of stillness and surrender, you experience being one with all that is, and we experience a peace and clarity that surpasses our understanding. This of course takes practice and awareness is the key... 

So what is your relationship with the present moment? Ask yourself what it is you are experiencing now. Is there tention, frustration or restlesness in your energy? This is a sure indication that you are not fully present. When you discover that you are not present, be kind to yourself! Don't judge! Simply take three deep breaths, and choose to become present. Allow any resistance to flow out of you and accept what is. When we allow without resistance the present moment to flow through us, we are again able to achieve more and also to experience more of what life has to offer.

It is my wish for you all to be more present this March and to enjoy the sweetness of life as we enjoy the last month of late summer!

Then I would like to share some of my latest art I have recently completed... first it's my new Hummingbird, featured at the top of this blog, and then I have also completed my Koi painting. It is my largest canvas to date, 1,86m x 65cm! It was quite a challenge to work on and very fulfilling to complete!

Welcome to February 2018... for me this is the month that the new year truly kicks in after the Chinese New year on the 16th of February.  Its only then that the true energy of the new year can be felt. We are saying goodbye to the "Fire Rooster"... and welcoming in the "Earth Dog".

For me personally the Earth element this year is supporting my personal goals and intentions... even my personal word for 2018 is "GROW". My symbol for 2018 is the HUMMINGBIRD and my personal symbol for the year is the BULL.  All the meaning and energy contained within these symbols and words are inter-related and speak of grounded, steady, persistent, focused growth and expansion within my career, personal life and relationships. I am looking forward to getting rooted deeper into the earth energy to GROW and expand this year...

2018 New year's blog

Happy New Year to you! 
May 2018 be blessed and prosperous to you all!

I hope you are all doing very well! It was my intention to write my December blog, but it was so crazy and busy through December that I never got round to it... so here we are, already in the first month of the new year and I have lots of fresh news to share with you all! Please enjoy my original artworks throughout this blog!

But before we get into all the new and fresh news, I would like to take a moment to just reflect a bit on what I did in 2017 by mentioning some of the major highlights of last year!

Firstly I got married in February,  yes! Its almost a year! I am really grateful for my partner, without him, this past year and all the new ventures and opportunities that came along,  would not have been possible!

Then I  started my own business and by the 1st of March, this too will be one year old! During the first year of my new venture, I expanded my services to include creative life coaching, as well as art therapy, and I furthered my studies in the field of applied psycology by completing my 2nd year studdies in Logotherapy at UNISA. 

When you read all of what I engaged with in one paragraph like that, it doesn't seem like much, but believe me when I say that 2017 has been one of my busiest and most productive years to date. As some of you will know, I barely touched ground this past year, as the speed at which I needed to keep pace, meant there was no time for slowing down or for resting. So no wonder by the end of 2017, I  felt a bit exausted and burned out. So needless to say, I  was grateful for a few days rest over the festive season, and now I am ready to get into a new and exciting year ahead!

Now, lets get into the new stuff...

In the field of futher studies, I will be taking a rest from Logotherapy for this year to incorporate and ground all the information and knowledge I accumulated throughout last year. I will be focusing on getting my creative coaching aspect of my business off the ground, and solidifying my hairdressing business with a focus on gaining new clients who reside in and around the salon in the Wonderboom area.

So if you have any friends, family or co- workers that you know who live in the Kollonade, Montana, Magalieskruin and Wonderboom area, please do them a favour and reccomend my services to them! I would really appreciate it!

Then, if you would like to become creatively fit in 2018, or if you want to learn an easy painting technique, or if you would like to give Art Therapy a go, in order to grow personally, please reach out to me, as I have a lot to offer in this regard! I offer personal coaching and as well as to groups. I can also customise events to suit your needs. The creative coaching method is new to South Africa and I am one of the first coaches that offer this method and perspective here. It has proven very successful abroad with creative coaches all over the world helping individuals and corporate businesses grow beyond previous limitations.

November 2017 news from Gideonslight

Dear friends and clients,

I can’t believe it is the month of November already! Where did the year go? Time sure flies when you are having fun, right?

Well, hopefully you feel like me, satisfied and grateful for a year used to the max, and living with no regrets.

 

But what if you don’t feel the same about 2017? Are you having another year that is flying by, with most of your goals and dreams collecting dust in the corners of your mind? Did you make the same mistake most people make on every new years day? Did you make new years resolutions that, by mid January, went up in flames? Are you simply going with the flow at the moment, waiting for the old year to end, and hoping that 2018 will be a better year?

It boggles my mind when I listen to clients complain every year how hard and difficult a particular year was compared to the one before. and I can detect this tone in their voice, a hopefulness that next year will be different… that things will go better, and that things will be easier somehow.

I have good news and I have bad news… 

Here is the bad news; things won’t be “better” next year…  and life won’t be "easier". The chance of all your problems magically evaporating on new years eve is highly unlikely! Sorry to burst your bubble! Forgive me for sounding negative, but please bear with me... I do have a point to make here. Life is really a neutral energy. It is not an "event". It is however your attitude and perception of life that make it either good or bad, hard or easy! We as humans are masters at labeling our experience in this way, and this causes us much suffering. If things don't happen according to our plans and expectations, we label life as "hard". When difficulties arrives we label it as "problems" and our experience of it becomes that of "obstacles". But what if you choose to look at these events as opportunities? You could look at these challenging events as opportunities to grow and to become a better person, but people seldom take this view in life. For some reason it is simply easier to complain, at least they have something to share with other people at social gatherings! 

Here is the good news; you don’t have to play the victim any longer! Life is not happening TO you… life is happening FOR you! But you have to grab hold of every opportunity, like you won’t get another chance. You have to go out there and create the things you desire to experience.  You have to ask Life what it is you can offer, in stead of asking what can life can offer you!

When you live with purpose, amazing things start to happen. You feel blessed,  happy and fulfilled. When you start to see that your life is making a difference, then Life becomes deeply fulfilling. 

One of the problems I see with our beloved nation is that there is a lot of Love... but very little Compassion. There is that famous saying; BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD.

Most people I know live borderline lives filled with apathy. They are masters at complaining and they fill their days with mindless activities and gossip. When last did you volunteer at a community center? When last did you take your precious time to make a difference in somebodies life other than your own? The only way our Nation is going to heal and start to head in a new direction, is when we start to take care of each other, and see our similarities rather than our differences.

 

One thing I have learned this year through my practice and studies, is that all human beings ultimately want the same thing: we all want to be happy, we all want to be healthy, we want to be safe, we all want to be loved, and we all want to have meaning in our lives. without this, we are but hungry ghosts, constantly searching for something to fill the void.

Your new year don’t have to be a carbon copy of years gone before. You can set your intention now to make 2018 a brand new experience! But know this… it will involve change… lots of change, and I know you cringe when you hear the word change… but he who doesn’t embrace change can only expect mediocrity and the mundane. Are you not tired of the same old experiences? Are you searching for something inspiring and fresh? Why not begin the search within... for all the things you seek out there... is ultimately found within!

I have just sold out my first Go Beyond event! What was so amazing to me is the kind of people that booked to come on this experience! Dear friends,

Happy October! It is my favorite month of the year, as it is my birthday on the 13th of October. With so much to celebrate,  I am really looking forward to this one.

I have graduated last night 2nd of October from the Creatively Fit Coaching Certification program (CCFC) and am looking forward to the next 6 months as I receive personal coaching to get my creative coaching businesses off the ground. With so much coming up and much still to come, I would like to share just a few highlights of what you can get involved with right now, and although I am not allowed to share what is coming up next… I'll let you in on a little secret, but don’t tell anyone yet, just keep it for yourself!

About your hosts:

Gideon Busquèt-Craucamp 
(Aka Gideonslight) has answered his life purpose and embraced his destiny from an early age. Even though the path was difficult, it has brought him to this point in his journey where he stands in service to humanity as a spiritual humanitarian.
His field of study includes Theology, Reiki, Counseling, Tricology (hairdressing), Logotherapy,  Art Therapy as well as his recent completion of an international Creatively Fit Coaching program from the States. He has many years experience in public speaking and has presented workshops and retreats since 2000.
He has volunteered for a number of years with the Lifeline community counseling group, and served as a regional co-ordinator for the international humanitarian foundation known as The Children of the Sun. It is his passion and life purpose to help people live with purpose and to find a deep meaning in life.
His background and on-going education makes him uniquely qualified for this task.

Arnaud Busquèt-Craucamp is a strong individual who has walked a difficult path that thought him how to know himself profoundly well and with that comes a skill set of insight and wisdom that you cannot learn in books.
He is also a student of Logotherapy and finds stoicism a unique philosophy in life that helps one brave the stormy waters of life. He also recently completed the Creatively Fit Coaching program from the United States.

Gideon & Arnaud is a power couple who has a passion for people and the environment. They believe to be the change you want to see in the world. They are devout Buddhists and have been presenting workshops and retreats of a spiritual nature for more than two years. They offer personal one on one creative coaching sessions, weekend retreats as well as art therapy and counseling to individuals and groups.

Coming up NEXT… my SCHOOL HOLIDAY PAINTING MADE EASY WORKSHOPS!

"Painting made easy" is a beginners class in basic painting methods and techniques that can be attended by interested individuals with no prior experience or art skills at all.
This workshop will be 3-4 hours long at a time and each class will have a few basic themes to choose from to make this learning and fun experiential event easy for anyone to participate in.

👉This is a fun way to occupy your child (or the whole family) during holidays
👉Safe and easy
👉Relaxing and engaging
👉Stimulating and de-stressing
👉Skills learned in this workshop are basic but can be developed further into more advanced methods
👉No previous experience or art skills are required,  but a sincere attitude to learn is essential

Ages: 9* year old +
*But please I am not a baby sitter, so if you feel your child won't be able to participate on their own without supervision,  rather join your child for the workshop. The group will be no larger than 15 participants at a time.

Requirements: 1x stretched canvas 45cm x 45cm, basic acrylic paints including Red, Yellow, Blue, White and Black. A basic set of brushes and  a paper plate or two to use as palette. A blanket to sit on. 1x clean refuge bag to place canvas on, 1x plastic cup for water to use with brushes, 
1x rag or paper towels.
*OR if I have to provide these materials an additional cost (which is to be announced on Quiket) will be added to the workshop fee.

Cost: *R450 pp (supplies and entrance fee not included!)
Dress: informal and please wear clothes that you don't mind getting paint on!
Time: 9am - 12pm Please note: if project is not fully completed during workshop, it can be completed at home.
Venue: Paint in the park (Pretoria Botanical gardens! Entrance not included in the ticket!)
